So I am 8 or 9 and get to go to Swan... lo and behold.. goose lands out of range and for 45 minutes works his way over to the decoys.. at about 40 yards, he is getting suspicious and starts to leave.. Dad says "jump him and shoot him." SO I step up on the step and forget the "jump him part" and bust a wing... He takes off running and I take off after him..
I manage to catch up but he dies on the other side of the wire.

Remember how you put a flag on the roof and the agent would bring the dawg to fetch any that died in the refuge?... I think that he was more than a bit skeptical when I said that goose ran under the wire and fell over where that Splatted almost defeathered goose laid...

On a trip to Swan as a kid, riding in the back seat of my Dad's buddy's cadillac in the fog, he smacked a semi that had stopped before he attempted to pull a high load under a bridge.... I dont know why but I still remember that the truck was from Montana and that amazed me at the time..

And also, we didnt wait for the Police because we didnt want to miss the draw...
